Second skin

  • Second skin is put on the tattoo and left for 1-3 days.

  • It’s normal for some fluid to build up under the second skin. If, however, it tears open before the time your artist recommends it’s better to just take it off. You’re welcome to come by our shop and get a new skin if the other one tears off for any reason.

  • We recommend you take the skin off in the shower and clean the tattoo carefully with mild soap.

  • When scabbing starts to appear, usually in 2-3 days, it is recommended to apply a very thin layer of cream to the tattoo regularly to keep it hydrated. We recommend Helosan or Bepanthen, which can be purchased in pharmacies.

  • Avoid soaking the tattoo in water until the scabs are gone. Avoid saunas and gyms too, as there’s always the risk of damage and infection to the tattoo while it’s healing.

  • Do not scratch or pick at the tattoo!

Cling film

  • Remove the plastic film approximately 6-12 hours later and rinse carefully with warm water and mild soap.
